Talking about his struggling days, Rajkummar Rao had revealed in an interview to Pinkvilla, “It used to be a difficult time for me. I come from a very simple middle class background and there was a time in school when I had no money and my teachers paid my two years of school fees.

Rajkumar had further revealed that when he came to Mumbai, there was a time when he had only Rs 18 in his bank account. He told, “When I came to the city, we were living in a very small house. I was paying my share of Rs 7000 which I felt was too much. I needed around Rs 15-20000 every month to survive and many times I would get notifications that only Rs 18 was left in my bank account. My friend will have 23 rupees.”

Rajkummar Rao also revealed that during this period, many times he had nothing to fill his stomach and he used to survive by drinking Parle-G and Frooti for lunch.

, The actor had also said in an interview that ‘it is very difficult to be an outsider’. He had said, “It was difficult to be an outsider. I grew up in a combined family in Gurgaon and at that time it was just a small town. I fell in love with cinema as a child and knew this was what I wanted to do. When I was doing theatre, I used to cycle 70 kilometers to Delhi. It was like you were going to meet your girlfriend.

However, it did not take long for the fortunes to change; today Rajkumar Rao is included in the list of top stars of Bollywood. After giving many hits and blockbusters and leaving his mark on both the small and big screens, the actor is now living a luxury life and is considered one of the A-listers.

Talking about the fees from Rajkumar Rao’s films, he now reportedly charges Rs 6 crore per film and lives in a luxurious house worth Rs 44 crore.

According to media reports, Rajkumar Rao’s net worth is Rs 81 crore. Apart from films, he also earns a lot from brand endorsements. They charge 1 to 2 crores for an ad shoot.
